Hello...

I am a Dance Movement Psychotherapist who qualified from Derby University in 2018. I am a registered member with the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy- UK and a trainee member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.

As an individual, I enjoy nature and gardening, and trying to recreate dishes that I have enjoyed from various cuisines. And of course, dancing/moving to my own music.

Therapy with me...

I work from, what is known as, a humanistic-integrative paradigm, which incorporates principles from a variety of theories such as person-centred, relational intersubjectivity.

I may at times, according to my professional judgement, suggest particular interventions to work with, for example, creative expressive movement/art, imagery/metaphors or body-based mindfulness techniques. Such methods are not applied as prescriptions or methods to achieving an outcome but as explorations that form an integral part of an ongoing process of dialogue. This is held in the context of a trauma-informed perspective, both personal and environmental (sociocultural factors, global events).

I do not offer answers but a space to ponder and reflect on what you feel the need to bring, where you will always have a choice of what you wish to engage with.

Experience

My clinical experience has encompassed working with adults with mental health needs such as schizophrenia and depression/anxiety.

I have also worked with adults who have been asylum seekers in the UK, had experienced domestic abuse, sexual abuse (as children and adults), and adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional families.
