Hello...

Hi, I'm Ali, I'm a BACP-accredited member and transpersonal counsellor. I use art therapy and shamanic practice with clients. I have a warm, empathic, and non-judgmental approach. It’s an honour for me to be able to support and facilitate you on your own personal and artistic journey.
I work with a wide range of children, young people, and adults, supporting them with their mental health and emotional well-being, using a transpersonal and person-centered approach. Arts Counselling has been shown to reduce anxiety and boost confidence, as well as improve attendance and enhance focus.

My Shamanic lineage is from the Q’ero nation in the High Andes of Peru and I create a safe, therapeutic space. I teach a 1-year shamanic practitioner training, as well as see clients for healing, in my sustainable eco-lodge in the Sussex Downs. Here, I hold regular Shamanic and Creative Workshops, Ceremonies, and Healing Circles.

Therapy with me...

My therapy practice is based upon the foundation of building a clear, safe container with clients in order to allow a deep, non-judgemental listening space to unfold.

I am interested in the growth and development of young people and use creative methodologies, from my transpersonal and integrative models of arts counselling, to support clients and access their inner world in a non-threatening way.
A holistic approach and regular contact with teachers, parents/carers, external agencies around each young person are imperative.
Creative therapeutic and shamanic approaches can help to articulate things that are difficult to explain verbally. Both approaches work with our innate bodies wisdom and imagination. These techniques help our souls to express themselves through journeying and the creative arts, allowing us to fully release and bring into balance whatever may be holding us back from our fullest potential.
Sessions with children under 12 may be shorter (30-45 mins).

Experience

I've worked with vulnerable children and young adults for over 20 years in education (including primary, secondary, and higher education) as an SEN tutor (crafts), artist-in-residence, youth groups, and school counsellor.
I'm a fully insured and accredited member of BAAT and BACP. I have a P.G.C.E and a level 7 City and Guilds Certificate in Transpersonal Counselling from the Tobias School of Art and Therapy.
I currently work in a specialist school and a secondary school, with young people ( 7-16 yrs) part-time.
Here I provide a person-centered arts counselling service for vulnerable young people, who need extra support for their mental health and well-being. This includes inspiring and offering consistent and non-invasive approaches, which prove beneficial to each client.
I have worked in private practice since 2018 and as a shamanic practitioner since 2009.

Areas of Expertise

I specialise in using arts counselling with children, young people, and families in the neurodivergent community, who might be experiencing trauma, PTSD, autism, attachment disorders, bullying, self-harm, challenging behaviour, developmental delay, anger and anxiety .
I am familiar with working within the framework of a support plan or an EHCP plan.

I run a women's circle and my own online/face-to-face shamanic practitioner training, as well as offering energy work sessions.

If you need a specialist, I am able to offer therapy to people who are affected by Neurodivergence, Learning Disability
