Hello, I'm Dena, happy to meet you.
Taking the decision to engage in therapy is a worthwhile step, and a wise and safe investment in YOU. You've likely been pondering on the idea for some time or perhaps something specific has triggered you in to taking actions now, either way, congratulations, a journey in to therapy is a cathartic approach to a sustainable future you.
I'm often asked why I became a Counsellor, and the simple answer is, despite having a broad spectrum career in the Corporate world as in operations leadership rolls, the people element of the business is what I truly enjoyed. I embarked on this incredible journey in to the World of Counselling and have been working in Therapy now for around 10 years, never having looked back once! I'd be honoured to take you on your personal journey through therapy and look forward to meeting you.

When you are feeling overwhelmed with difficulties in your life, talking to a trained counsellor or psychotherapist, in a safe, non-judgemental environment, can often help you find ways to resolve difficult issues. Counselling and psychotherapy can help you feel supported as you explore difficult situations, helping you identify solutions, and support you, as you cope with change.
Experience
I've experience in a variety of approaches which include Psychodynamic, Humanistic, REBT CBT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Poly Vagal, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Attachment style analysis. I'm a Trauma informed therapist which means that I may help you to formulate an understanding of how Trauma can effect the mind and the body and in addition I'm a registered FLOW Neuroscience clinician. Flow is an NHS approved tDCS (transcranial Direct Current Stimulator) headset which stimulates the brain and helps restore activity, relieving depressive symptoms, amongst other such as BPD and OCD. I hold a Qualification is Clinical supervision L6 and adhere to both the UKCP and BACP supervision ethical framework.

Dena has helped me in so many ways. She is extraordinarily perceptive and kind, and always has a useful and insightful perspective on what I'm going through. She helped me to find a way to repair my relationship with my dad, and my relationship with my parents is now the best it has ever been. I am currently in the first healthy romantic relationship of my life partly because of being able to process my anxious tendencies with Dena, and I am so grateful for this. Our sessions have really transformed how I feel about myself and my life in general, and I plan on continuing our sessions for the foreseeable future.
