Hello...
Hello, my name is Katie, I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) registered therapist. I have over 10 years experience and now work in private practice.
My hope is to create a compassionate, confidential, empathic and non-judgemental space to help clients make sense of whatever has brought them to seek therapeutic support.
Therapy with me...
My core training was in the Humanistic approach, I work integratively, drawing on different theories and approaches that I have learnt over the years to suit my clients needs and their current life situation.
My passion lies in assisting individuals on their unique journeys, recognising that each person's life experience's are distinctive. I firmly believe that fostering healthy relationships is crucial to mental wellbeing, encompassing not only our connections with family, friends and colleagues but also the relationship we have with ourselves.
I offer both short-term focussed therapy and open-ended psychotherapy. I am pleased to be able to offer a safe space for adult clients.
Experience
I have a diverse background as a counsellor, mental health practitioner, wellbeing trainer and accredited Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor. I worked in primary care in GP surgeries offering counselling to patients for a number of years alongside my private practice and employment within an EAP for a large healthcare company.
I have facilitated women's therapy support groups, horticultural therapy sessions, crisis interventions and workplace supervision for frontline staff. Many of these projects were part of my work with the prominent mental health charity, Mind.
